August 2002 [Mumbai, India]
by Veena Barnes
The 3rd Annual Greeting Card Competition was held in Schlumberger
Mumbai last October. Thirty seven kids participated, between the
ages of 3-10 years. The Competition has been aptly titled: Art
with heart. Themes of the drawings expressed the kids' interests
in festivals, seasons of India, favorite games, and landscape/nature/scenic
spots.

CRY
(Child + Relief and You), an Indian organization dedicated
to help under-privileged children, judged the competition.
Two drawings were selected to create Schlumberger
Mumbai corporate greeting cards for the new year: one celebrating
Diwali, the Hindu festival of lights, and the other celebrating
Christmas. Twelve other drawings (one for each month)
were selected to make desk calendars.
The results of the Greeting Card competition were given and
the winners awarded at the occasion of a party attended within
the Schlumberger Mumbai office.
As a result of this wonderful day, CRY created a calendar
and two greeting cards for Schlumberger.

Schlumberger Mumbai ordered 2000 desk calendars and greeting cards.
For each card printed and sold by CRY for Rs.18/- each (about $0,4),
CRY gets Rs.4/- (about $0,1). The total amount CRY got from Schlumberger
Mumbai was Rs. 2,000,000 (about $41, 100) part of which went towards
CRY projects to aid under-privileged children.
