That's a crazy idea!!
Most likely, this is what came to mind of the few
spectators walking along the harbor of Penzance, England on
the 8th of October 1977. Twenty-four 6.5 meter sailing
boats were ready to sail single-handed to Antigua via the
Canary Islands.
The
longest solo Transat sailed on the smallest high sea racing
sailboat was born with this regatta in 1977. Many people predicted
a disaster but every two years, more and more sailors are
attracted by the challenge.
This year, I join the race in My Workplace, a 6.5
meter Pogo. Find out more about the race, my boat, and what
I've been doing to qualify and prepare for this adventure.
Then, follow my progress during the race and ask me questions
about what it is like to race a small sailboat across the
Atlantic.
