The students at Computer School II in New York City carried out the resistivity experiment. Here are their results:

DeepackWe found out the resistance of dry sand, sand with water, sand with salt water, water, salt water, sand with oil, salt, salt with oil, and finally, salt with sand and soil. The one which conducted the most electricity was Sand with salt water. Probably the Salt water was the key to that because it was 2,000 Ohms. Ohms is one of the measurements of electricity. The sand with salt water was 1,000 Ohms. The lower the Ohms are, the better they conduct electricity. The dry sand, sand with oil, salt with oil were bad conductors of electricity. They didn't conduct any electricity because they were infinity Ohms.

When we rechecked the salt, sand and oil, it turned out to be that it was infinity Ohms. That was because the Ohmmeter was set wrong the first time.
