Abstract

Glaucoma is one of the leading causes of bilateral blindness in the United States. Quality of Life (QOL) is an important and useful measurement in the life of a glaucoma patient. QOL of a glaucoma patient is important in understanding both the progression of the disease and how to better treat the patient. Through this study, the Glaucoma Quality of Life questionnaire effectively produced insight into the progression of the disease and showed that beyond the moderate stage of glaucoma, progression becomes less detectable. In addition, it was found that QOL indicators are extremely helpful in a fostering doctor-patient relationship.
