SEED Journal

What is the SEED Journal?

The SEED Journal is a place for you to publish the results of a project in science or engineering. You have an opportunity to explore ideas, conduct research, design and carry out experiments, and solve problems in science and engineering. If you wish, we can provide you with a mentor to help you define and carry out your project.

How to Particpate

To begin with you should have a question you wish to answer,a problem to solve, or and idea you would like to explore. If you need help coming up with a project or in clarifying an idea you have, look at our project suggestions.

You may work alone or as a team. If you want help as you develop your project we can arrange for you to work with a mentor; a SEED expert who is knowledgeable in your project area and can assist you.

We can also connect you with students around the world who have interests similar to yours. You can share ideas and inforamtion, and work on projects together. You can communicate by email, and we can also set up a bulletin board with a private chat room for your group.

A panel of SEED experts will review your project. Entries that meet SEED Journal standards for creative ability, scientific thought or engineering goals, thoroughness, skill, clarity, teamwork, and use of resources will be published. If the reviewers find that your project needs additional work or clarification, you will have an opportunity to revise and resubmit it.

You may begin a project at any time and determine your own time frame for completing your project.
