Problem

The sea-front boulevard is a centrally located city 2-mile stripe with a bustling commotion of strollers going along a lively thoroughfare of never-ending flows of vehicles. This puts a technogenic strain upon the surrounding air. We start from a surmise that some parts of the sea-front boulevard should be heavily polluted and thereby create a certain health danger for people used to spend their spare time at this traditional strolling ground.

Hypothesis

Starting from the well-known fact that needles of a conifer is ecologically susceptible with regard to adverse mixtures in the air, we decided to utilize the plain pine tree, abundantly growing along the sea-front boulevard, as a testing tool. On the basis of the obtained data, we planned to identify those spots along the sea-front boulevard that are most affected by the anthropogenous burden. The results are expected to be delivered to the ecological department of the City Council.

Research Procedure

  1. Select the areas along the sea-front boulevard of an intensive ecological strain
  2. Choose specific research points.
  3. Explore every second pine tree, in particular, the needles of the lateral offshoot in the fourth mooting branch from the stem.
  4. Estimate the degree of parching of the needles and classify the harm by the look of stains.
  5. Process the chamber data with the help of tables.
