I was born in Lyon, France and moved a lot within France and abroad with my family because of my father's profession and our family's interest in traveling.

My mother is Vietnamese. My father spent 20 years in Viet Nam from 1945 to 1965. My two elder brothers were born in Viet Nam. They can speak and read Vietnamese language. I have another brother who was born in Lyon too, 11 months before me. Yes I was a 6.5-month premature baby. I was so hurry to arrived in this world that I was born in the taxi!

I became involved with SEED first because it is part of Schlumberger. I was proud to work for a company that put money in 'good' causes. Second reason is I would say related to getting older, i.e. getting more mature. I know that I am among the lucky ones. I know as well that money isn't everything. Some people said that I have succeeded, but what does it mean? Nothing is finished when you are still alive and healthy. You can always get more from yourself, and what if it is not money?

My husband and I spent two weeks in Thailand during summer 2003, engaged in the first SEED Learning While Doing initiative. That was a wonderful experience that we will certainly repeat! What a reward when at the end of each week, students and teachers expressed their joy of having participating to such project. A reward as well later, back home, after telling about the trip, when other Schlumberger people or friends wanted to follow the open path. It is a reward because before the trip, people were more skeptical or surprised that we preferred to spend our vacation working on water issues instead of laying on the resort's beach.

After having just returned from South-East Asia, Philippe and I just wanted to send everybody over there! We felt so much replenished from all these new friends and from those new shared memories between Philippe and I.

An inspiring quote (an advertising slogan from New Man clothes brand) I like is 'La vie est trop courte pour s'habiller triste' - which can be translated as "life is too short to dress down".
