I was born in Belguam, India a small town close to Goa where
I lived till I have 17. At 17 I left home for the first time
and moved to Bombay where I studied Civil Engineering at the
Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay. After finishing my
Bachelors I moved to Boston and got a MS and a Phd in Computer
Aided Engineering at MIT.
I was always interest in puzzles and problem solving and
that led to my interest in Science and Engineering and my
subsequent degrees in the area. It is a fascinating subject.
I started work at Schlumberger in May 1996, first in Houston
and then moved to Austin in 2000. I have been working in the
Reservoir Modeling group, starting as a Software engineer,
moving up the ladder to Senior Software Engineer, Group Leader
and now a Section Manager, managing the Modeling Office products
for the Reservoir Modeling Software that Schlumberger sells.
Before joining Schlumberger, I worked as a Research Assistant
at MIT while I got my Phd. Besides work, I enjoy reading,
traveling, hiking and tennis. I met my husband at MIT, so
I owe MIT 2 things a wonderful husband and a PhD degree. We
have been married for 5 years, and have an 18 month old son.
I spend most of my non-working hours playing with my son.
I have to thank my husband for being able to juggle both family
and work.
