I studied in an Italian-Venezuelan school because my father is from Italy and my mother is from Venezuela. There I learned Italian as my second language, because my native one is Spanish.
After finishing high school I went to the university of my dreams, "Universidad Simón Bolívar" to study Geophysical Engineering and I got my diploma in 1999. During my childhood I was always interested in mathematics and the earth sciences. Geophysical engineering combined these topics.
Three days after getting my degree I joined Schlumberger as a Geoscientist in my home country, Venezuela. In 2001 I started a Master's in Geology, but in 2002 I had to temporarily put it on hold because Schlumberger transferred me from Venezuela to the United States as a Seismic Data Processing Geophysicist. This transfer not only allows me to learn about seismic data processing, but also to learn about the North American culture, to learn English and to meet new people.
My job in Schlumberger is related to seismic data, loading data into computers, processing data coming from the field and interpreting it, which means looking for interesting structures where oil could be found.
I like to learn something new every day ... in my job and in my personal life. I enjoy sharing my knowledge with other people, which makes me feel helpful. That is why I like to be part of SEED as an "Askable Expert". The type of questions that I answer the most are the ones related to Geosciences. I always try to put a bit of extra effort on answering the questions in the same original language that the SEED visitors are using, especially Spanish, English, Portuguese and French.
I love dancing and listening to any kind of music. I also like to cook outdoors, "BBQ-Barbeques" at home with my family and my friends. I enjoy traveling and discovering new places with my husband, beaches especially.
I love my family—my husband Omar, my parents, my siblings, and my little angels Gabriel and Sabrina. We are a very united family and they are my motivation.
